Who it is for
People who are already adults when they move: someone taking a job in another country, a family following a partner’s posting, a couple planning where to retire. The questions are practical ones. Which country has a route that fits us? What will it cost to live there? When can we use the health system? When do we start paying tax there, and when do we stop at home? What do we have to do in the first three months?
How it works
You can ask the assistant a question in your own words, compare countries on the same six dimensions, and work through the first-90-days checklist. Answers explain how things generally work and point to the official government page, because that page, not us, is the authority.
What we cover and what we do not
We help with
- Comparing countries side by side on visa route types, cost of living, healthcare access, tax residency, banking and housing.
- Moving with a partner, children or parents, and settling somewhere to retire.
- A first-90-days checklist: what to sort out before you fly, in week one, in the first month and by day 90.
We do not do
- Student visas and university applications.
- Investor visas, golden visas and citizenship-by-investment.
- Immigration or tax advice on your own case. We explain how things generally work and point you to the official source; a licensed adviser or the authority itself has the final word.
- Filing applications or acting for you with any government.
Sources and dates
We work from official sources: immigration authorities, tax authorities and health systems. Rules and fees change without much notice, so every guide shows when it was last checked. If you find something out of date, tell us at contact@overseas.chat and we will re-check it against the source.
About the assistant
The assistant is an AI model. It can be wrong, and it does not know your full circumstances. Treat its answers as a starting point for reading the official rules, and speak to a licensed immigration adviser or tax professional about your own case.
